The calm ambience of the Cemetery
The Moynamoti War Cemetery is known to the locals as the 'English Cemetery' as there are graves of Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Christians and Jews. Soldiers killed and wounded in World War II have been buried at the Moynamoti War Cemetery in the rank of Brigadier. There is another such Commonwealth Cemetery of six hundred fifty-five soldiers on Badsha Mia Chowdhury Road in Chittagong city.

At the Moynamoti War Cemetery, the Commonwealth War Cemetery, six hundread thirty-eight soldiers got killed in World War II, there are twenty fourJapanese prisoners of war and one civilian. Moynamoti War Cemetery is the 2nd Commonwealth Cemetery in Bangladesh, located on a 4.5 acres hill between Tipra Bazar and Moynamoti Saheb Bazar in Comilla Cantonment, five km from Comilla. Moynamoti War Cemetery is open to all from 8 am to 5 pm throughout the year except for 2 days of Eid. However, the cemetery is closed every day from 12 noon to 1 pm. You can reach Comilla very easily by bus or train from Dhaka which would take only 2 hours and 30 minutes and then you have to take CNG to visit the cemetery.There is a BARD near the Shalban Buddhist Monastery and you can also stay there by a reservation. Apart from that, Comilla town has several good quality residential hotels including Comilla Club, Comilla City Club. There are different quality hotels or restaurants so you can enter any restaurant as per your need. You can have the authentic taste of famous Rasmalai of Manoharpur Kali Baristha Matri Bhandar. Our country is our home, we need to keep it as clean as possible, wherever we go wherever we live. To get a better future, it is our responsibility to maintain a neat environment always. Apart from that, we need to maintain proper safety precautions before or during travelling to protect ourselves from catching COVID 19 virus.
