Independence of Bangladesh
As an independent country, Bangladesh got it's freedom on 16th December, 1971. But there is a long history behind this. Bengal people have got their freedom under the leadership of a great person named Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman.
As an independent country, Bangladesh got it's freedom on 16th December, 1971. But there is a long history behind this. Bengal people have got their freedom under the leadership of a great person named Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman. In 1947, whole Bengal got divided in two parts named India and Pakistan. Again, Pakistan got divided in two parts such as East Pakistan and West Pakistan. Bangladesh was introduced as East Pakistan. From the initiation of East and West Pakistan, West Pakistan's people started to snatch the facilities from Bangaladeshi people and also exploited us. Our great leader, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman announced the victory of our country on 26th March, 1971 as Pakistani armies started killing Bengali people from the night of 25th March. From that day to 16th December, there was a noteworthy war between armed Pakistani armies and unarmed Bengali people. The history is remarkable to be remembered. The history is a story of agony and torture. On 16th December, Pakistani armies finally surrendered before Bengali people and got their freedom.

From the very first of dividation of Bengal West Pakistani people would discriminate in every things. They did not give equal facilities like fund. They did not even give Bangladeshi people any chance to sit in the adminstration building and form government. In 1970, Bangladesh's biggest political party Awami League got victory over Pakistani people to sit and form government but Pakistani people started drama not to give the chance Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman. It was decided to held a national assembly on 3nd March of that year but in secret, President of west Pakistan named Iahiya Khan and the leader of West Pakistan named Julfikar Ali Bhutto planned to kill the Bengali people with the help of Pakistani armies. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman gave an announcement on 7th March of that instant to awake Bengali people and to form protests against Pakistani people. His that announcement or speech is known as Historical 7th March speech or. On 25th March, Pakistani armies attacked upon innocent Bengali people and started killing them without any discrimination. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman was taken to jail that night. On 17th April, 1971, to have liberation war and to organise it, temporary government was formed. Then, freedom fighters started to have fights against Pakistani armies at different points of the country. On 16th August, freedom fighters destroyed warships of Pakistan those were kept at Chittagong port and thus different points of our country started to become free from enemies. On 16th July, Bangladesh was divided in 11 sectors under the supervision of Kornel Muhammad Ataul Gani Osmani to have the liberation war smoothly. Pakistani armies and their helpers who were introduced as Rajakars would torture and kill innocent Benagli people regularly. But during October of 1971, freedom fighters attacked upon Pakistani armies heavily and they got frightened to come out of their camp and that's why Pakistani officers had increased their soldiers to confront Benagli freedom fighters. Lastly, Pakistani armies were not being able to harm Benagli freedom fighters and attacked on India to have this war to international stage. After that, Bangaladeshi freedom fighters and Indian soldiers got united and named as Muktibahini. After that, they jointly attacked on Pakistani armies. Benagli people also freedom fighters and at last the war was going towards end. At the beginning of December month, Pakistani armies decided to surrender before Muktibahini and lastly on 16th December, 1971, Pakistani army officers surrendered with 93,000 armies. Thus, nine month's bloody liberation war was finished and formed an independent country named Bangladesh.
