The old design of the mosque carries instance of Bengal’s Sultan era magnificence. The architectural genius mostly lies in its use of 20th century’s dynamic shift of material. Square in shape, it has a big dome in the middle with four smaller domes on four corners. Keeping akin to Islamic tradition and heritage, the mosque has two tall minarets visible from afar.   Locals say, artistry adorning the mosque was sourced from as far as England. Expensive stones were also brought in from Kolkata. Concrete and cement are the materials heavily used to build the interior and exterior of Burir Hat Jame Masjid.   The mosque’s exterior work shows speckled white – an expression to portray a similitude with the heavens. Domes and minarets feature more of the intricacies too.
