The name of the location is Jahangirnagar University, the oldest fully residential university in Bangladesh established in 1970.

History Of Jahangirnagar University

At present, President Abdul Hamid is the Chancellor of the University, and Professor Dr. Farjana Islam is the Vice-Chancellor of the University, the first female Vice-Chancellor in Bangladesh. The university was founded on 20 August 1970, and on 12 January 1971, it formally began its journey to teaching students. So the 12th of January is Jahangirnagar University Day. but after Bangladesh became independent, the university began to operate under a new act called the Jahangirnagar University Act 1973. Now, summer days went down with the sun all over the world. Yet summer is the season when nature begins to bud. And Jahangirnagar is a place where you can see the splendor of nature on this scorching summer day as the campus looks like a spring sky.

How To Get There

There is plenty of public transport available from almost every part of Dhaka, but the fastest way will be to drive your car. Depending on where you're switching, it'll take you from 1 hour to 1.8 hours to get to JU. A rickshaw is the fastest way to get around Jahangirnagar University Campus though you're going to have to pay around 35-50 taka. You can travel around the campus in about 60 to 85 minutes, covering an area of 5-6 km. You've got to make a plan to set the journey according to the season. It will be best to start a trip at 6:30 a.m. in winter and at 4:00 p.m. in summer when the sun is getting tired.

Getting Through The Beauty Of Nature

Jahangirnagar University is regarded as the realm of natural beauty. Thousands of people visit this university every year to take a fresh breath and see the natural campus. The entire campus is surrounded by different forms of trees and 12-13 lakes. The water features scattered throughout the campus make an ideal habitat for winter birds that flock to thousands every year. In winter, migrating birds travel here to avoid the extreme cold of their traditional countries. Behind the VC residence, there is a beautiful lake called lotus pond, where thousands of migratory birds sing their songs with their tune in the winter that will make you very happy. The path between Kabir Sharoni and Chourasta must be the most enticing as you will be welcomed with thousands of migratory birds and red water lilies. If you're a lucky guy, you might find some wildlife here as the Jahangirnagar University Zoology Department operates a wildlife rescue center that protects some wildlife that helps to normalize the ecological balance.

Have you ever heard of Butterfly Park? Jahangirnagar University has a butterfly study center and a butterfly park exclusive to Bangladesh. You'll be able to see a large range of beautiful butterflies in a single location. The highest memorial to the language movement is located at Jahangirnagar University. This sculpture, called Amor Ekushe, is well known throughout the world, and a lot of people visit this university to see the highest monument of language movement in Bangladesh. The Shahid Minar is a perfect place to enjoy a snack with your friends and family and enjoy some tea. There have been two other monuments in the vicinity that might be worth visiting.

Also, there is a large playground called the center field and a magnificent central mosque situated near the main entrance. Monni Shoroni and Chourongi are also well-known locations at Jahangirnagar University. You will enjoy the drama and cultural programs of Muktomoncho, a forum set up by the great artist Selim Al Deen. Various cultural groups typically perform here regularly. Shaptam Chayamancha is a great attraction to tourists.

Where To Eat

Jahangirnagar University is a place where you'll get food at a very low price and the item is said to be hygienic. Bot Tola, Tarzan Point, Dairy, and Prantic gates are common places to eat. If you're looking for a desi meal, Bot Tola is your best bet where you can have lunch or dinner at a really low rate. Bot Tola is renowned for food including 25 kinds of fried vegetables, as well as curries of fish and meat. Approximately 20 to 25 forms of Bhorta are available here with prices ranging from 5 to 10 taka. If you want to take the Hilsha and Taki fish bhorta test, you have to pay 10 takas while the rest is 5 taka. The dishes are fairly priced and the consistency is fine, almost like home-cooked food, and they claim to be hygienic.

The average meal would only cost Tk 30-100. Various rich products such as polao, tehari, and khichuri are also available on weekends. Tarzan Point is popular with Chotpoti and Fuchka. And Pitha Chattar is lined with a number of nearby pitha shops. If you're looking for fast food products, there's no stress as there are six fast food places around the two entrances to the university, Dairy and Prantic Gateways. You will get it within five minutes of the order. Jahangirnagar University is a green land of the unique beauty of nature. Although there is no place for conspiracy in urban nature, conspiracy comes to nature in various colorful forms on the campus of Jahangirnagar University near Dhaka. The winter scene in particular is breathtaking. Winter is the exception to the rule of rough foggy fog. Winter arrives on the campus with all its beauty and aesthetics.
