St Paul’s Cathedral is the most popular church in Kolkata city and a must-visit holy place. It is located in Maiden just nearby Victoria Memorial. Prinsep Ghat provides a spectacular view. It is named after the famous James Princep. The place was built when the city and the whole country was under the British Raj. This place is serene and quaint where locals and tourists go for a getaway from city's hustle-bustle. The local people use this place for morning and evening walks by the banks of the river Ganga. It does not offer really a great view but also free of pollution. Howrah Bridge is the most iconic structure of Kolkata is. Built across the Hooghly River, it forms the gateway to Kolkata connecting the city to Howrah Station. It is one of the top-notch architectural icons of the whole of India from World War II till date. This place is overcrowded and you have to stuck in traffic for hours but this structural excellence is worth it.


Kumartuli is the place where the Durga idols are made. The place is the residence of the “kumors” or potters who had settled down in the area during the early eighteenth century. Before the Durga Puja, the lanes and mazes of Kumartuli becomes extremely busy with the idol makers working on their craft. If you like to see creative crafts then this place is a must-visit for you. Located on the banks of river GangaDakshineswar Kali Temple is very popular. This is one of the great temples in Kolkata which has a lot of religious importance for the locals. This place serves aesthetic value for the tourists as well. It was made in the 19th century with a dedication to the goddess Bhavatarini who is considered as a reincarnation of Kali. New Market happens to be one of the most favorite places for Kolkata shoppers even in the times of glitzy malls and high-end shops. New Market is the place you get almost everything.Also, try local foods when you visit new market. Don’t forget to take yellow taxi rides they are so iconic and visually pleasing and one of the most talked-about things in Kolkata.
