Tajpur is one of the most visited places near Kolkata and It's said Tajpur is especial for those who are attracted by empty beaches. Tajpur is a tourist destination in the East Midnapore district of West Bengal which is located between Mandarmani and Shankarpur. The tourist centre has now become quite popular in the tourist arena that's why the West Bengal government has plans to expand tourism and build a seaport at Tajpur.

The government is planning to build a seaport here soon. However, it is rumoured that this will hamper the tourism industry in Tajpur. Tajpur may be the ideal beach for all the Bengalis who are in nostalgia for the old Digha. If you want to bathe in the sea in the rainy season, go straight to Tajpur avoiding the crowd of Digha. The lonely beach of Tajpur falls a few kilometres before the road to Digha. A major attraction of Tajpur is the red crab Which can also be seen in the nearby Udaipur Sea Beach.

The amount of red crabs on the rest of the beach is gradually decreasing. Several voluntary organizations in Kolkata have recently taken initiatives to conserve red crabs. You can get the exact taste of getting lost in the dunes of Old Digha and Zhaob in Tajpur. The solitude and cleanliness are one of the reasons to love this beach. If you fall on the road from Balisai to Tajpur, your mind will get restless. There is a wide bay on both sides and sometimes one or two cottages are painted. It is fun to see fish farms and fish mills being processed in the freshwater so close to the saltwater sea. Dense Zhaoban separates sea-Beach from the hotels in Tajpur. If you want, walk through it and reach the beach.

The staff of Tajpur Beach Guard is quite active. So there is no danger of chaos. Don't miss the heavenly pleasure of watching the sea and eating hot fish fried in the ham next to the shop this monsoon! When the beach is a little secluded, rows and rows of red crabs come out and blow sand. Sometimes they can fall on the street! Except for the main sea beach and estuary of Tajpur, the rest is quite secluded. After sleeping in the evening, you can feel the solitude here well! Shankarpur is very close to Tajpur. It can be reached in ten minutes by car or Toto. However, now the beach of Shankarpur has lost much of its former splendour due to the construction of the sea-beach. However, the road from Tajpur to Shankarpur is at sea. Smooth Marine Drive is a great feeling! Since the sea is not very rough here, the tidal wave will match when you go into the water at high tide. However, time goes by just sitting on the shore without going into the water, so enchanting Tajpur.
