The world's longest non-stop passenger flight: 19 hours of continuous flight from New York to Sydney

Australia's Qantas Airlines has successfully tested one of the world's longest non-stop passenger flights. The flight from New York to Sydney was conducted as part of a study.   This study is to know the effect of such a long journey on the human body.   The Boeing 8-9 Dreamliner had a total of 49 passengers. The flight from New York to Sydney takes a total of 19 hours and 18 minutes. The aircraft has covered a distance of 18,200 kilometers.   Qantas Airlines will operate a similar long-haul flight from London to Sydney next month.

Quantas hopes to reach a decision on operating regular flights on these routes by the end of this year.   Quantas is thinking of launching such a flight by 2022 or 2023.   So far no commercial aircraft has been able to cover such a long distance with passengers and cargo in all seats.   This flight of Qantas Airlines therefore takes very few passengers and less cargo. So that the plane can carry a lot more fuel.     When passengers board the flight, their clocks match the time in Sydney. Passengers are then kept awake in Eastern Australia until evening, in order to reduce their jet lag.   Six hours later they were given high-sugar foods. The inside of the aircraft is then dimmed so that passengers can sleep.   The brain waves of flight pilots and other crew are also monitored. There were physical facilities for the passengers. This is the longest commercial flight in the world.   And Qantas Airlines also launched a 16-hour flight from Perth, Australia to London last year.   Qatar Airways has a seventeen and a half hour flight from Auckland to Doha.
