Sheikh Mujibar Rahman was born on 17th March 1920 at the Gopalganj subdivision under the Faridpur district. His father's name was Sheikh Lutfar Rahman and his mother's name was Sayera Khatun. He had four sisters and one brother. From the very beginning of his life, leadership quality grew in him. He was also connected with politics from a very early age. He was regarded as Bangabandhu for mixing with Bengali people so closely. At first, he was the leader of the Awami League and also performed his responsibilities as president and prime minister of a liberated country. He taught and lead people to snatch victory and freedom from Pakistani people. Under his leadership, the Bengali people got their desired freedom. That's why he is regarded as "Jatir Janak". When East Pakistan emerged after 1947, he was a young student then. After that, he became president of the Awami League. He worked against the West Pakistan administration. To have the rights of the Bengali people, he initiated a six-point movement. In 1968, he was framed as a culprit to have conspiracy and a case was filed named "Agartala Mamla".

Again, in 1970, though Awami League got their victory under the leadership of him, they were not provided the chance to form a government. Pakistani armies started killing people on 25th March under the instruction of Iahiya Khan and Julfikar Ali Bhutto. Sheikh Mujibar Rahman was also arrested and taken to West Pakistan. He was sentenced to death by Brigadier Rahimuddin Khan but that was not executed. After getting the victory on 16th December 1971, he was freed from prison and sent to Bangladesh. Then he took the responsibility to serve the country as a president. Again, after initiating the parliamentary administration system, on 12th January 1972, he took the responsibility of being prime minister of the country. He followed nationalism, socialism, democracy and secularism and formed a constitution for Bangladeshi people. He worked hard to develop the country by removing poverty, unemployment etc. He also talked to the leaders of foreign countries for aids regarding health, food etc and signed many treaties also for the development of the country. Unfortunately, on 15th August, 1975, a group of junior military officers killed him with his whole family and staff and we had lost a remarkable person who fought for our country till his last breath.
