'Langalband' bathing in the Brahmaputra river of Bandar police station in Narayanganj district is a sacred matter for the followers of traditional religions in the subcontinent. According to the Sudarshan Panjika, it starts from the night of March 26 and continues till the last night of March 27. The fame of 'Langalbanda Mahatirtha' spread all over the country as many pious saints from home and abroad came to 'Langalbande' on this date. According to the world-renowned philosopher and spiritual guru Dr. Mahanambrata Brahmachari, 'Mahaprabhu Sri Krishna' Chaitanya Dev bathed Langalband. Even Swami Vivekananda, the King of Nepal, Mahatma Gandhi bathed at various times with the mother Bhubaneswari Devi in the wake of the holy 'Buddhastami' in 1901.According to him, there was a famous sage named Jamadagni in Tretayuga. She was married to Renuka. They had five sons. The name of the youngest child is Parashuram. He was the sixth incarnation of the tenth incarnation of Vishnu. One day, Muni asks Renuka, the wife of Janmadagni, about the delay in fetching water and finds out about her mental disorder. In a fit of rage, Muni ordered his sons to kill their mother. None of the first four sons agreed to obey the order of Agnisharma Muni. Later, Parshuram, the fifth son, cut his mother's body in two with an ax at his father's command. But the ax fell into Parshuram's hand. To solve this problem, Parshuram went on a pilgrimage at the behest of his father. As soon as Parshuram bathed in Brahmakunda, the ax fell from his hand and he was freed from all sins.

It is thought that the time was the eighth day of Shukla in the month of Chaitra. Later, at the behest of his father, Parashuram was able to bring the water of the universe to the foot of the Himalayas with the ax that fell from his hand. Then he plowed the soil with a plow and brought it from the foothills of the Himalayas to Langalband in Narayanganj district. According to many, the name Langalband came from there. Thousands of people visit the place while bathing.Infrastructure and Facilities
At present, there are 16 ghats in Langalbandh. In addition to those ghats, there are 10 temples and a few ashrams. There are tiles in 16 bathing docks. There are also changing rooms for women. An area of 3 km around the bathing ghat is under a close circuit camera. Also, divers and fire service including security forces are engaged all the time during bathing.
