National Tree Fair: The place to appreciate the beauty of nature

The tree is one of the most essential friends of humans. From the starting of the civilization to till date tree has been always supported the human being. The most beneficiary of the presence of plants is the human being. The tree has always fought against the different environmental crisis which includes, deforestation, desertification, soil erosion, global warming, etc. Planting the trees not only decreases the pollution of the environment but also increases the beauty of the environment. As there is much importance of having a forest of 25% in a country to maintain the ecological balance, different countries in the world launch tree plantation campaign. Bangladesh is also not an exception to these types of campaigns. The government of Bangladesh and different non-governmental organizations are putting their best efforts to plant more trees and make people aware of the importance of the tree. One of the crucial initiatives of saving the environment from the different calamities is the inauguration of the national tree fair. This tree fair is arranged every year considering its importance and the popularity it has gained among the people of the country. Every year this three fair is arranged at the national parade ground of Agargoan, which is the central position and the people from different part of Dhaka and outside Dhaka can easily visit this place. This is one of the most fascinating places for nature-loving people who appreciate the beauty of trees. Different types of plants can be seen here which are very suitable for roof gardening in the city.


As it is not easy to do gardening in a city of brick and stone, so nature-loving people are seen with much enthusiasm to do rooftop gardening. They became interested in rooftop gardening because it takes a minimum of space, a tub or drum, and soil. The first inauguration of this fair was done in 2005, from then the fair is arranged every year from June to July month of the year. This month is selected for the fair because this is the monsoon season in Bangladesh during this time which is very much suitable for the tree plantation. A wide range of trees, plants, and seeds are brought to be sold in this fare. The plants are mainly fruits and flowering plants. Many rare plants are also bought to be sold in this fare. It is noticed that many people from the different parts of the country visit this fair to buy their desired plants. This is one of the wonderful places to visit and it is can be a day-long escape from monotonous routine life. Every nature-loving people are recommended to visit the national parade ground to appreciate nature and buy their suitable plants.
