Reunion with Pakistan

But Bangladesh and Pakistan's union was happened after the partition of Bengal in 1947. Again, partition of Bengal was held in 1905. Before the partition, there was colonial period that ended in 1947. During colonial era, British ruled upon us. Once again, before British government, Europeans had come to Bengal and they ruled upon us. In 1517, Portuguese formed an outpost at Chittagong. They also created many residences at Satgaon and Hooghly. But by 1651, British snatched the power to control over Hooghly from Portuguese. Thus, the rule of Portuguese came to an end.

Then, with other Europeans British started to trade until they got an opportunity to take control over whole Bengal in 1757 through the defeat of ruler Shirajuddoula. After that, British started to expand their colonial system. British government started expanding their colonial system tremendously. After that, Bengal renaissance was happened. To say about the partition Bengal, it was announced by Lord Curzon in July 1905. The partition took place on 16th December, 1905. Actually, it was the dividation of religion to be said. Largely Muslim eastern areas were detached from largely hindu western areas. But it was futile. Muslims thought Hindus as cunning exploite and again many Hindus of upper classes thought the countryside Muslims as British agents and inferiors. That's why, British government had to reverse the partition in 1941 and the government also declared to move India's capital to Delhi. In 1906, Muslim leaders created a party and announced its loyalty to the British government. Again, there was also emerged a system of election that was based on limited franchise. Actually, the franchise was like vote counting. Again, Muslim League and Indian National Congress both had taken seperate electorates and provincial weightage. Then, the seats for Bengali Muslim reduced to forty perchant. The election happened on non-party basis till 1920. Again, there was announcement that no party would be able to establish a minority on its own. At that time, Muslim League contested with Fazlul Haq's Krishak Party(KP) for the Muslim seats. There was established a ministry with Krishak Party and Muslim League. Moreover, in 1941, Fazlul Haque recreated his government without Muslim League. At that time, politicians were subjected by two groups named Muslim League and Indian National Congress. The election was happened mainly to form a Muslim homeland named Pakistan. Unfortunately, KP of Fazlul Haque got defeated. The majority of peasants saw this from the point of economic benefits and choose Bengal. Thus, there was dividation of grater Bengal. Muslim League did not want to divide Bengal. They wanted it keeping fully included in Pakistan. There are also some politicians who wanted to have an independent united Bengal. National Congress rejected that. In 1947, two regions were formed named East Pakistan (Bangladesh) and west Pakistan( Pakistan) under Pakistan state and thus, two two countries got united.
